SEA BLOOM PIN

Sale price$325.00
Variant:

Sea Bloom Pin is inspired by the fluid movements and delicate organic forms found beneath the sea, recalling the quiet elegance of underwater flora carried by ocean currents. Its sculptural composition unfolds through soft, flowing volumes, where pure white porcelain and subtle golden accents evoke a sense of lightness and movement. It is a handcrafted piece composed of individually hand-modeled elements made from translucent white porcelain. The porcelain is covered with a transparent glaze and fired at a high temperature of 2282°F (1250°C) to achieve its final strength and luminous finish. After the first firing, details of colloidal gold are carefully applied by hand to selected edges and surfaces, followed by a second firing at 1472°F (800°C) to permanently fix the gold decoration. The piece is completed with a gold plated brass pin system.

About

Raluca Buzura

Raluca Buzura is a romanian ceramist and a jewelry designer established in Spain since 2016. She lives in Tortosa where she configures her creations inspired by personal experiences and the nature that surrounds her.

Born in a northern province of Romania in 1984, she graduated in 2007 the ceramic-glass-metal department of the University of Art and Design in Cluj-Napoca, Romania. During the studies, her works were in the installation area, participating in various projects and exhibitions. After completing a master degree in ceramics in 2009, her main focus becomes contemporary jewelry design.

Her interest in jewelry comes from the fact that this area has not been given much attention as frequently people use to see it only as an over plus brought to the human body, that has a value depending only on the material used. Therefore, it was a challenge to change viewer’s angle and to reveal an alternative: that jewelry can be considered a work of art in its own right, having an artistic understanding, concept and message that can cover a wide range of fields.

With an experience in ceramic jewelry for over 16 years, her most representative artistic activity include: “AUTOR" - Contemporary Jewelry Fair, Bucharest, Romania (2009-2025), personal exhibition “IRREVERSIBLE”- Popeye Loves Olive Gallery, Athens, Greece (2016), “LOOT: MAD ABOUT JEWELRY” - Museum of Art and Design, New York (2017/2026), ”COLLECTIVA MEETING” International Exhibition, Collectiva Gallery, Porto, Portugal (2018), “MateriaMetamorphosis” International Exhibition, Creativity Oggetti Gallery, Torino, Italy (2018) , SCHMUCK - Munich Jewellery Week, Germany (2019), BIJOUX! West Palm Beach, USA (2020-2023).

In 2019 she starts a collaboration with the spanish porcelain brand Lladró. Her uncensored imagination combined with the exquisite qualities of Lladró´s technique, merged into a fine jewelry collection, “Actinia¨, that in 2021 receives the gold medal in International Design Award.

Her work has been shown by publications such as New Necklaces by Nicolas Estrada (cover), Metalsmith Magazine or Vogue Japan, and rewarded with following prizes: Autor Awesome Award (2018), Collectiva Meeting Award (2018), Faire Magazine Award (2018), Joya Barcelona Award (2019), gold medal in International Design Award (2020), Wearable Art Museum Award (2024) and Milano Fashion&Jewels Award (2025).
