Each element is individually hand-modeled from white porcelain combined with high-temperature pigments, creating subtle tonal variations that recall the depth and movement of the ocean. Once shaped, the elements are glazed and fired at 2282°F (1250°C), allowing the porcelain to reach its final resistance and refined finish. Delicate touches of colloidal gold are then applied by hand to selected areas and fixed through a second firing at 1472°F (800°C).
